Do you not only want to develop hardware-related firmware, but also reliably support and improve it over the product life cycle? In the Conveyor Technology team, you will focus on care and feature development of a central component.
You will analyze requirements and field topics, implement robust changes in the firmware and ensure their quality through systematic testing and debugging. You will have a direct understanding of the hardware, be able to understand changes in the circuit diagram and derive and implement necessary adjustments to the firmware - especially to the bootloader.
What you'll be handling:
- Responsibility for technical product maintenance and targeted further development of the component over the product life cycle
- Analysis, evaluation and implementation of error corrections, change requests and new product functions in close coordination with product owner, hardware, test and system development
- Development of hardware-related embedded software in C - including drivers, peripheral connection and time-critical functions
- Structured troubleshooting at software, hardware and system level with debugger, logs and suitable measuring equipment, e.g. oscilloscope or logic analyzer
- Creation, execution and evaluation of unit, integration and system tests; Expansion of test automation for recurring inspections
- Maintain a traceable firmware architecture, technical documentation, and clean build and version statuses
- Collaboration on reviews, release preparation and continuous improvement of development, build and test processes
What you'll need:
- Completed technical training in the field of computer science, software engineering, mechatronics, automation technology or comparable
- Sound knowledge of C for embedded or firmware development and a good understanding of hardware-related software
- Experience with microcontrollers, peripherals and typical interfaces - Knowledge of CAN as well as at least one other interface such as SPI, I²C or UART
- Practice in structured troubleshooting, debugging and in the handling of technical measuring equipment
- Understanding of maintainable software architecture, version control and reproducible builds - ideally experience with Git and CMake
- Basic knowledge of C++ and Python in order to be able to make clearly defined adjustments in the application above if necessary
- Independent, quality-oriented way of working and enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary team
- Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken

We offer an attractive salary in line with the market, which can be above the collective agreement depending on qualifications and experience. The minimum gross basic salary based on full-time employment per year is 54.507 Euro.
